History[]

Pre-Debut[]

Before forming Chego all the members had at least 10 years of dance experience. [6]

Origin[]

Chego originally was formed as a 5 member group on March 11, 2017 on Mix channel and on YouTube with "BOOMBAYAH" on May 5. However, within the first few months Maya left the group due to a difference in direction. [7]

For the first couple years they were almost exclusively a kpop cover group with only occasionally a pop or jpop thrown in. Their first more traditional "Odottemita" cover was haruka and Meeeeho's cover of "Planet Loop" in 2019.

On August 20, 2019 Meeeeho announced she would be leaving the group [8] and a week later the revamped Chego was announced with haruka and Maho receiving new member colors and all the members dying their hair their member color. [9]

Popularity[]

Chego first started gaining traction in the odottemita community when haruka posted her solo choreography of "Usseewa" Nv in February, 2021. They quickly gained popularity that spring culminating with their cover of "Odo" in May which is their most popular video with over 6 million views.

Their cover of "WE LIKE" placed 3rd in 1theK's contenst.

Idol Activities[]

Chego has released their own music. Their first original song, "Don't Miss it" was realeased on November 10, 2019. They released their first music video, "Gonna Get," on July 5, 2020.
